Gold Mining Town to build World Class Desert Golf Course

The Western Australian Mining Town of Kalgoorlie is famous for its gold, and just out side of town has one of the World’s largest Open Cut Mines that creates thousands of jobs for the local residents.

With a population of just over 30,000 people, Kalgoorlie township has thrived from the mining industry and the visitors that travel to Kalgoorlie to explore the town's rich history.

Golf in Kalgoorlie has been fairly low key up until now , with construction reaching its final stages of the Desert Style Grass Golf Course.

In 2002, State and Local Government approved plans to provide the popular mining town with a World Class Golf Course. The Graham Marsh Golf Designed Course will be a major drawcard for the local community and the region.

The Golf Course comprises of two returning nines totalling over 6700m in length and will create a green oasis within the Kalgoorlie Desert.

The Golf Course is currently being grassed and will open early in 2010 for play as a part of a large Resort & Residential Development.
